The Diva & The Maestro

Tamara Trojani & Konstantin Schenk

Can you laugh in a serious, classical concert?

Certainly! Because Tamara Trojani and Konstantin Schenk serve with bravura lightness not only the most beautiful and sophisticated arias of the opera repertoire, but also cheeky punch lines, cabaret and culinary delicacies and much more.

“La vita è bella” is the motto of the evening

When Tamara Trojani sings, full of soul and passion, she enchants even the most die-hard theater muffle and takes him to another world.

But what if the Trojani cooks….! This thoroughbred artist also runs a restaurant completely „like a piece of cake" and first serves up hearty anecdotes about "children, kitchen, coloratura", then no eye stays dry!

Maestro Schenk is of course to blame for everyday disaster, but he takes it with humor and still carries the diva through the magic land of music.

Tamara Trojani - The Diva

An old Zarah Leander record is to blame for Tamara Trojani becoming a singer. The unforgettable songs of the great film divas have shaped Tamara Trojani since childhood.

By luck, her Belcanto voice was discovered. After graduating from the conservatory with distinction, her stage career in Italy began. There the soprano becomes “La Trojani” with four octaves and she is making a career.

She sang Tosca, Funny widow, Three Penny Opera ... and she worked on Italian television, where she could also act out her acting and comedic talent. On one of these TV shows, she met - again by luck - the conductor Konstantin Schenk.

Konstantin Schenk - The Maestro

As the son of the actor and senior director of the Vienna State Opera Otto Schenk, Konstantin Schenk spent part of his childhood in the director's lodge, from where he had a very good view of the conductor.

And so it happened that the cheeky boy began to imagine threatening the singers with the stick himself ...

After studying music at the Vienna University of Music, years of traveling through the German stages followed. He was assistant to Claudio Abbado and Herbert von Karajan, has a repertoire of fifty operas and has conducted all over the world.

Even if he never wanted it to be true, conducting alone was no longer the sole goal of his dreams. He searched and found new ways to combine classic and comedy. And he found the ideal stage partner for this: Tamara Trojani with her limitless voice and with her comedic and at the same time charismatic stage presence.

Their extraordinary appearances filled the most beautiful and largest concert halls:

Hamburger Musikhalle, Roy Thomson Hall / Toronto, Heinz Hall / Pittsburgh, Philharmonie Gasteig / Munich, West Palm Beach Opera, Knight Concert Hall / Miami, Teatro Smeraldo / Milano, Teatro Petruzelli / Bari, Teatro Olimpico / Rome, Teatro Verdi / Florence

Last but not least, they conquered the Vienna audience with three sold-out solo programs in the Vienna Konzerthaus. "Vivere" La vita e bella, "Casta Diva" La vita e bella, and "Yes Sir - Rendezvous with Zarah Leander".

With the double CD (24 songs) "Yes Sir - Rendezvous with Zarah Leander" Tamara Trojani has fulfilled a childhood dream and is returning to her musical roots. And for the most beautiful festival of the year, the two recorded a Christmas CD "Christmas crossover the world". And they presented their favorite Christmas carols with a concert by cathedral priest Toni Faber in St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna. Their musical releases ...
